Summer holiday in Denmark: Build memories at LEGO House

A summer holiday in Denmark is something truly special. Long, bright days, day trips, big laughs, and time to be together away from the everyday hustle. When planning a family holiday, it is all about finding places where curiosity, play, and new experiences take centre stage. In the heart of Billund, you'll find LEGO® House – an experience center packed with LEGO bricks, creativity, and hands-on activities for the whole family.

Visit LEGO House in summer

Often, a simple playground ends up being the kids' favourite: a place where they can run, climb, make up games, and move freely. LEGO House is the ideal alternative when you want to offer that same freedom to play, but with even more opportunities to get creative and fully immersed. A day at LEGO House offers a unique experience for all ages. Here, parents and children can build, experiment, tell stories, tackle fun challenges, and explore an entire venue built for LEGO play together.

LEGO House – an experience center with room for imagination

LEGO House is located in the heart of Billund, right where the LEGO brand first took root. Opened in 2017, the experience center was created as a gathering point for families, LEGO fans, creative minds, and curious visitors from all over the world.

Inside, a unique LEGO universe awaits, where bricks are just waiting to become the foundation for your ideas, big and small. Perhaps your child will build a creature that has never existed before. Perhaps a single brick will mark the start of a city, a robot, or a story the whole family can expand on together. At LEGO House, imagination takes physical form, and play evolves with every new brick, colour, and possibility.

At LEGO House, you can explore our Experience Zones and our exhibition filled with heritage stories. It isn't about being the best or building the biggest structure; it's about experimenting, trying new things, and discovering what's possible.

What can you experience at LEGO House?

When you visit LEGO House during the summer holiday, you get access to an experience center filled with 25 million LEGO bricks and activities for all ages. Our four Experience Zones each offer a new way to play and learn.

Red Zone

Unleash your imagination, build freely, and bring your ideas to life on a large scale. There is room for simple builds, fun creations, and clever details – whatever comes to mind.

Yellow Zone

Build fish and flowers out of LEGO bricks and watch your creations come to life in digital worlds. It is a playful, sensory zone where children can experiment with colors, shapes, and movement.

Green Zone

Build scenes with LEGO bricks and LEGO Minifigures and record your own stop-motion LEGO film. This is where stories come to life through your imagination. You can also enjoy World Explorer, where minifigures tell their own little stories.

Blue Zone

Test your logic, solve problems, and put your creative skills to the test. You can build a race car and test its speed on the Test Driver track, or program a beekeeper robot to plant as many flowers as possible.

While LEGO House is primarily aimed at children aged 6–12, we also have dedicated DUPLO® areas in every Experience Zone, allowing the youngest guests to enjoy their first hands-on experience with bricks and building.

Beyond the Experience Zones, you can also explore:

  • Masterpiece Gallery: Discover impressive LEGO creations in the Masterpiece Gallery, including three giant dinosaurs built using three distinct LEGO brick systems – DUPLO®, SYSTEM®, and TECHNIC®.
  • History Collection: Dive into the history behind the LEGO brick and see how an idea born in Billund became a global sensation that continues to inspire across generations and borders.
  • The Roof Terraces: Step outside for a break on our creative outdoor play areas. Kids can play, climb, and burn off energy, while adults relax with a cup of coffee.
  • LEGO Square: Visit our open central plaza, accessible without a ticket to the Experience Zones. From here, you can explore the LEGO Store and pick up everything from classic LEGO sets to special souvenirs.
  • MINI CHEF: When hunger strikes, the fun continues. At MINI CHEF, you order your meal using LEGO bricks, and our service robots, Robert and Roberta, deliver it to your table. Table reservations for MINI CHEF should be made well in advance, as seating fills up quickly during the summer holiday.
  • BRICKACCINO: BRICKACCINO is LEGO House's cosy café, where families can unwind with coffee, ice cream, sandwiches, desserts, and plenty of LEGO atmosphere.

LEGO Masters Academy

During the summer holiday, the whole family can unleash their creativity at LEGO House with the LEGO Masters Academy. Children and adults can sign up for creative workshops of varying lengths to learn fun building techniques, discover new ideas, and build their own LEGO models.

Plan your visit to LEGO House during the summer holiday

To make the most of your day, it is a good idea to plan your visit in advance. LEGO House is open from February through December and closed for most of January. Please note that opening hours vary by season and date. Children aged 0–2 enter for free, and all children under 13 must be accompanied by at least one adult.

We recommend booking your tickets online to guarantee entry on your preferred day and time slot. A ticket to the Experience Zones gives you full access to explore at your own pace all day long. Remember that LEGO Square, the roof terraces, the LEGO Store, and the dining areas can all be visited without an Experience Zone ticket.

Plan to arrive early, especially during peak season when many families spend their summer holiday in Billund. If you would like to have lunch at MINI CHEF, we strongly advise booking a table beforehand, as it is a highly popular dining experience.

Combine your visit to LEGO House with LEGOLAND

To make your trip to Billund even more memorable, you can easily combine your visit to LEGO House with a trip to LEGOLAND – perfect for families looking for a multi-day holiday filled with active experiences. A great itinerary is to spend your first day at LEGO House building, exploring, and getting inspired together, followed by a day at LEGOLAND enjoying rides, shows, and outdoor attractions.

For the ultimate LEGO experience, you can book a LEGO stay with overnight accommodation at one of the fantastic LEGOLAND hotels, complete with fun, LEGO themed rooms.
