LEGO® House unveils Special Edition Masterpiece Gallery for a limited time

• For the final months of 2026, LEGO House is giving Masterpiece Gallery a special temporary twist, bringing together original creations by 17 LEGO® designers and colleagues from around the world before AFOL creativity returns to the Gallery as part of a special 10th anniversary edition in 2027.

BILLUND, DENMARK, 24 SEPTEMBER 2026: Masterpiece Gallery at LEGO® House is taking on a special new form this autumn as 17 LEGO designers and colleagues from around the world become its exhibitors for a limited-time edition opening on 25 September 2026.

Usually dedicated to showcasing extraordinary creations from the global Adult Fan of LEGO (AFOL) community, Masterpiece Gallery will look a little different for the final months of the year.

For this temporary edition, LEGO designers and colleagues representing different backgrounds, disciplines and parts of the world have been invited to step into the role of exhibitor and create personal LEGO® models centred on home, togetherness, journeys and holiday traditions.

The result is a collection of 17 very different creations, from holiday traditions in Mexico, the Philippines and Australia to wintry journeys across Canada, Denmark and beyond, each telling a personal story through LEGO bricks.

The Special Edition Masterpiece Gallery will be on display for just over three months, from 25 September until the end of 2026, making it a rare, limited-time chapter in the story of one of the most recognisable spaces in LEGO House.

“Masterpiece Gallery has always been about celebrating the creativity, creations, and stories people bring to life through LEGO® bricks,” says Rasmus Duun, General Manager, LEGO House. “For this Special Edition, we wanted to turn the idea around and invite LEGO designers and colleagues from across the LEGO Group to step into the role of exhibitor and share something much more personal with their own stories, traditions, memories and perspectives.”

You can travel from a Filipino Christmas celebration to an Australian summer, follow journeys home across continents or discover tiny details inspired by family traditions. And because this edition will only be here for a few months, it gives guests a completely different reason to experience Masterpiece Gallery before another exciting change arrives in our 10th anniversary year.”

17 builders, 17 personal stories

The Special Edition brings together builders with roots and stories spanning the globe, each interpreting the themes of home, togetherness, journeys and holiday traditions in a completely different way.

Mexican-American Model Designer Abraham Virgen Gonzalez brings the colour and traditions of Mexico to Masterpiece Gallery with Entre Flores, Luz y Fuego (Between Flowers, Light and Fire). His creation combines star-shaped piñatas, a Christmas tree, poinsettia, traditional fireworks and colourful papel picado, alongside small scenes inspired by his own holiday memories.

Closer to home, LEGO House Master Builder Dídac Perez Soriano, originally from Spain, presents two graphic LEGO artworks – HO HO HOme of the Brick and What’s Your Jam? – using retro typography, bold lettering and playful scenes to explore happiness, creativity and the things that bring people joy.

Canadian LEGO Designer David Guedes puts nature centre stage in Seeing the Forest for the Trees, following iconic minifigures on a journey home through a richly detailed forest filled with unexpected LEGO elements. While fellow Canadian LEGO Designer Bryce Duyvewaardt turns his regular journey between Denmark and Canada into Flying Home for the Holidays (Window Seat)*, an interactive lenticular mosaic built with more than 12,300 LEGO elements.

From the Philippines, Lee Magpili’s Kumikutikutitap na Parol takes inspiration from the traditional illuminated star lanterns that symbolise family, culture and community during the Filipino holiday season.

From Germany, Isabelle van Vleuten brings a touch of LEGO nostalgia to the Gallery with Friends Since 1989, reuniting classic LEGO Pirates characters for a festive holiday celebration. The model also incorporates original LEGO elements from her own childhood collection, connecting personal memories with a much-loved chapter of LEGO history.

At LEGO House itself, Danish builder Mads Bergholz Frederiksen sends a family of iconic LEGO wooden ducks on a festive journey through Billund in Quacking Home for Christmas.

And Australian LEGO Designer Owen Davis swaps snow for sunshine in Ozzie Christmas, where Santa wears shorts and sandals and kangaroos take the place of reindeer.

Together, the 17 creations offer a journey through different cultures, traditions, memories and interpretations of what it means to come home for the holidays.

A special chapter

The Special Edition is deliberately temporary.

Masterpiece Gallery has showcased work from the global AFOL community since LEGO House opened in 2017, with fan creativity forming an important part of the Home of the Brick™ experience. The previous collection of AFOL creations updated in September 2025 was on display until 20 September 2026.

When LEGO House reopens in early 2027, Masterpiece Gallery will once again be dedicated to AFOL creativity, with an entirely new selection of fan exhibitors and creations revealed as part of the 10th anniversary year of LEGO House. More details about the 2027 Masterpiece Gallery will be revealed closer to that date.

“Our relationship with the AFOL community is incredibly important to LEGO House, and Masterpiece Gallery is one of the most visible celebrations of that relationship,” adds Rasmus Duun. “This Special Edition is a short, playful detour that guests will only be able to experience for a few months, before AFOL creativity returns to the Gallery in 2027 for a very special celebration of our 10th anniversary year in 2027.”

The 17 exhibitors featured in the Special Edition Masterpiece Gallery represent cultures and creative perspectives from around the world:

• Bryce Duyvewaardt (Canada) Flying Home for the Holidays (Window Seat) – an interactive mosaic inspired by journeys home between Denmark and Canada.
• David Guedes (Canada) Seeing the Forest for the Tree – iconic minifigures journey home through a forest where the landscape becomes the star.
• Dídac Perez Soriano (Spain) HO HO HOme of the Brick and What’s Your Jam? – bold, retro-inspired LEGO lettering celebrating creativity, happiness and holiday spirit.
• Francesco Spreafico (Italy) Ole Kirk’s House – a detailed tribute to the former home of LEGO Group founder Ole Kirk Kristiansen.
• Isaac Snyder (USA) Snowbound Serenity – a wintry steampunk journey home filled with mechanical details and unexpected elements.

The Special Edition Masterpiece Gallery opens at LEGO House on 25 September 2026 and will remain on display until the end of the year.
